Storeroom Clerk Job Summary

ROCKWOOl requires smart inventory management strategies which is critical to manufacturing optimization and uptime.  It’s impossible for our technicians to perform their duties without a ready supply of parts. The Storeroom Clerk ensures those parts are planned, purchased and deployed and the highest value is managed for our equipment and facilities. The Storeroom Clerk is responsible for procurement of all machinery spare parts including consumables for the entire factory and fixed cost sourcing and purchasing for all departments at the plant level. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, they also ensure the right stock is on the shelves at the right time, while keeping inventory holding costs low. 

What are the day-to-day responsibilities of a Storeroom Clerk?

  • Manage yourself and the parts room department in keeping with Rock the Globe strategy and trends that align with our Rockwool core values.

  • Conduct weekly cycle counts and maintain adequate stock levels to ensure there is no negative impact to the Maintenance and Production departments.

  • Reconcile physical inventory on a monthly basis in Navision for all BOM items.

  • Create and complete purchase orders to meet manufacturing requirements and communicate with appropriate departments as appropriate.

  • Ensure all invoices and supporting documentation are verified for accuracy and processed correctly for submission to the Technical Services Manager and/or Plant Manager for approval.

  • Establish and maintain delivery schedules, monitor progress and coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to resolve problems

What skills and qualifications do you need for the role of a Storeroom Clerk?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • 2 to 5 years (MRO) purchasing experience in a continuous flow manufacturing or industrial environment and automated equipment strongly preferred.

  • Grow and develop the team by sharing knowledge / experience.

    • Organizational and analytical skills;

    • Basic computer knowledge and skills;

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
